Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Emeryville, California. In this role, you will oversee critical accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. Your expertise will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and supporting organizational goals.

Job Responsibility:

Serve in a hands-on accounting role with exposure to multiple functions, including GL, AP, AR, and job costing
Act as a cross-functional team member supporting smooth operations across departments
Coordinate month-end activities to ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations to support a timely and efficient close
Help develop and refine processes to enhance team efficiency and performance
Utilize and optimize the ERP system (Vista) by continuously improving workflows and structure
Generate ad hoc reports related to job cost, WIP, payroll, and other operational needs
Lead initiatives such as business census reporting, license renewals, and tax filings
Serve as the primary contact for the annual CPA review
Partner with the Controller and CEO to support key strategic and managerial decisions

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance required
CPA or MBA preferred
Minimum of 3 years of construction industry experience required
Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Technically proficient with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team
Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
