We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles, California. This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in accounting and payroll processes, as well as a passion for precision and efficiency. As part of a long-term contract, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational improvement within a non-profit organization.

Job Responsibility:

Manage month-end closing processes, including reconciling accounts and preparing journal entries to ensure accurate financial records
Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring transactions are properly recorded and aligned with organizational policies
Conduct financial statement audits and collaborate with auditors to provide necessary documentation and resolve inquiries
Perform account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data and identify discrepancies
Prepare and review manual payroll processes to ensure compliance with regulations and organizational standards
Identify opportunities for business process improvements and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Ensure all accounting practices adhere to relevant regulations and organizational guidelines

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on month-end close and general ledger activities
Proficient in financial statement audits, account reconciliations, and journal entries
Proven ability to implement business process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
