Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in New Orleans, Louisiana. This is a Contract-to-permanent position within the manufacturing industry, where you will play a critical role in overseeing and analyzing financial processes. Your expertise will help ensure accuracy in inventory management, financial reporting, and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee and analyze manual inventory processes to ensure alignment with purchase orders, manufacturing bids, and billing procedures
Collaborate with the controller to manage daily accounting operations and support higher-level financial tasks
Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and provide insights to improve reporting processes
Conduct month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Perform bank reconciliations to maintain accurate cash flow records
Lead inventory accounting efforts, including detailed analysis and audits
Identify and address discrepancies in inventory management to optimize workflows
Provide guidance to clerks and other team members to enhance operational accuracy
Support payroll processes and contribute to financial analysis initiatives

Requirements:

Proven experience with month-end close procedures and general ledger management
Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation processes
Expertise in inventory accounting, analysis, and audits
Familiarity with bank reconciliation practices
Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements with attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with controllers and other senior staff
Analytical skills to assess and improve inventory and accounting workflows
Advanced proficiency in financial software and accounting tools
