Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Chesterfield, Virginia. This role requires a strong understanding of financial processes and compliance with tax regulations, along with proficiency in managing complex accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the Finance Manager in achieving organizational goals.

Job Responsibility:

Maintain accurate and compliant bookkeeping practices in adherence to accounting and tax regulations
Oversee accounts receivable processes, including debt collection and timely payments
Manage purchase invoices, accounts payable, and supplier payment schedules
Process travel expenses and employee expense claims efficiently
Reconcile and balance bank accounts to ensure financial accuracy
Prepare and reconcile all relevant balance sheet accounts, specifying details where required
Maintain and update the asset register to reflect organizational changes
Accrue expenses as part of monthly closing procedures
Handle tax preparation and reporting responsibilities
Provide direct support to the Finance Manager on various accounting tasks

Requirements:

Proven experience with account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation
Expertise in bank reconciliations and general ledger management
Proficiency in journal entries and month-end closing processes
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP
Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Familiarity with financial reporting and tax preparation
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while independently managing responsibilities
