We are looking for an Sr. Accountant to join our Accounting team in Barcelona to undertake the month-end closing process, meet with the reporting deadlines and timings and ensure we are in compliance with Group Accounting Policies and applicable reporting standards. You will work closely with our local, Regional and HQ finance teams to manage financial processes, prepare reports, and contribute to the overall success of our organization.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and complete the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Maintain paperworks for the monthly accruals as required as a part of the monthly financial reporting process
Maintain the company's accounting books according to the statutory regulations
Ensure accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management
Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits
Review income statements, balance sheet, and Free-Cash-Flow discrepancies, and escalate to management if necessary
Conducts General Audit of all Accounting Ledgers on a regular basis
Control and confirm all the invoices received and issued through the invoicing platform
Ensure all accounting/financial Policies and Procedures are adopted in line with prevailing legislation
Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP/IFRS) during the month-end closing reporting
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial efficiency and controls
Actively collaborate with your colleagues and learn from each other in a supportive environment that allows you to grow, develop and make a difference
Work closely with the local finance team within different finance projects
Support the Head of Finance with any finance or accounting related topic
Adapt quickly to changes in company policy, tax regulations and legislation
Check all original documents (contracts, acts, VAT declarations, etc.) for the company interest
Requirements:
Fluency in English (must) language with the ability to understand and communicate clearly and effectively (both written and oral)
Bachelor's Degree from related departments (Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, etc...)
2+ years of applicable work experience in Accounting or similar role for multinational companies
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing process preparation
Open to learn the local accounting standards and tax regulations
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (GAAP/IFRS)
Availability to travel according to the business needs
Good experience in SAP (or any other system) and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheet
Strong analytical skills to analyze financial reports
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A good organization & planning skills
Nice to have:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent professional accounting certification
Experience with OneStream Corporate Performance Management (CPM) platform for financial consolidation, planning, and reporting
Background in finance process improvement initiatives, with a focus on efficiency, automation, and best practices
