We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant on a contract basis to oversee critical trust account reconciliation processes and lead a team of senior accountants. This role requires exceptional leadership and organizational skills to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in managing multiple client trust bank accounts. Job Responsibility:
Supervise and mentor a team of senior accountants, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of multiple client trust accounts
Manage trust account operations across various locations, overseeing thousands of active cases
Analyze reconciliation challenges, document root causes, and develop detailed procedures to address issues effectively
Propose and implement process improvements and software solutions to enhance case-level tracking and reconciliation accuracy
Collaborate with IT, legal, and banking stakeholders to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
Communicate progress, updates, and actionable recommendations to firm leadership and external partners in a clear and thorough manner
Establish methods to monitor and track losses, developing strategies to mitigate risks and enhance reporting capabilities
Coordinate with external teams to implement reconciliation tools and streamline workflows for efficiency
Ensure deadlines are met while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail in all reconciliation tasks
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required
Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in accounting or trust account management
Expertise in handling trust accounts and performing bank reconciliations
Familiarity with the legal industry and its trust account regulations is highly preferred
Strong knowledge of bank account operations and reconciliation best practices
Proven ability to document processes, analyze root causes, and recommend actionable improvements
Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage priorities under tight deadlines
High attention to detail, urgency, and commitment to delivering accurate results
