Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing key accounting processes and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices and a keen eye for detail.

Job Responsibility:

Manage and execute month-end close procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Maintain and analyze the general ledger, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards
Prepare and post journal entries, verifying accuracy and completeness
Perform account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues
Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between internal records and external statements
Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
Generate financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies in all accounting activities
Assist with audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries
Monitor and address variances in accounts to maintain financial integrity

Requirements:

Proven experience in month-end close procedures and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and related processes
Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries with accuracy
Expertise in account reconciliation and resolving discrepancies
Familiarity with bank reconciliation practices and tools
Ability to analyze financial data and generate meaningful reports
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining compliance
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working within a team environment
