Sue Sumrell is recruiting for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a dynamic and rapidly growing organization in the Portland area. In this role, you will take on key financial responsibilities, driving operational efficiency and ensuring accurate reporting processes. Job Responsibility:

Prepare and oversee financial reports and data analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards
Manage and coordinate the month-end close process, ensuring timely and precise completion
Develop and maintain cash forecasting models to support financial planning and decision-making
Lead the implementation of accounting standards, ensuring adherence to regulations and policies
Identify and drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
Support the integration of acquisitions by aligning financial processes and systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reporting processes and tools
Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced accounting staff, fostering detail oriented growth
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and audit requirements
Monitor and evaluate financial performance, recommending strategies for optimization

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience within mid-sized companies
Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting standards
Proven experience in financial audits and compliance processes
Demonstrated ability to implement and improve accounting processes and systems
Effective communication and collaboration skills across teams and departments
Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational and analytical abilities
