Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support service industry operations on a contract basis in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this role, you will manage comprehensive accounting activities for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and upholding financial integrity.

Job Responsibility:

Lead and execute month-end and year-end closing procedures for several business entities
Prepare, review, and confirm accuracy of consolidated financial statements, ensuring full compliance with applicable standards
Perform detailed reconciliations of general ledger accounts and maintain precise subsidiary records
Oversee all aspects of intercompany transactions, including reconciliation and elimination of balances
Analyze financial results, identify variances, and produce reports comparing actuals with budgets and prior periods
Record journal entries, accruals, and develop supporting schedules to document accounting activities
Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes for multi-entity operations
Monitor and enforce adherence to established accounting policies and standards across all subsidiaries
Track and manage fixed assets, including updating and maintaining depreciation schedules
Work closely with operations teams to ensure appropriate expense classification and cost allocation across departments

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
At least 3 years of progressive experience in accounting roles
Demonstrated experience managing accounting functions for multiple entities or subsidiaries
In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards and compliance requirements
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including expertise with pivot tables and financial modeling
Hands-on experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or other comparable systems
Solid understanding of intercompany accounting and consolidation procedures
Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities
