Job Description

A well-established and growing independent accountancy practice in Barnsley is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its expanding team. This opportunity is ideal for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with around 1 year post-qualified experience (PQE) who is looking to take ownership of client relationships while broadening their technical exposure.

Job Responsibility

  • Managing a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105
  • Overseeing corporation tax computations and returns
  • Providing advisory support to clients on financial and commercial matters
  • Acting as the main point of contact for client queries
  • Identifying opportunities for new fees and cross-selling services
  • Supporting junior team members with technical development

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified status
  • Around 1 year PQE within accountancy practice
  • Experience managing a client portfolio
  • Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and corporation tax
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive mindset with an interest in developing new business
