Lead Financial Operations for a Growing Multi-Company Construction Organization. Are you an accounting leader who loves being close to the business, not just closing the books? We’re looking for an Senior Accountant to take ownership of financial operations across a multi-company construction entity. Job Responsibility
Lead daily and monthly bank reconciliations and other monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Review weekly payroll and process one smaller company payroll each week
Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable, including providing weekly A/P budgets
Manage and oversee the general ledger, including preparing and posting journal entries
Calculate and remit 401(k) deferrals weekly and union dues monthly
Oversee work-in-progress (WIP) job cost tracking and analysis
Monitor, manage, and forecast company cash flow
Support month-end close activities as needed
Continuously evaluate and improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
Perform year-end accounting activities for external auditors
Supervise, mentor, and inspire payroll and accounting staff as the business grows
Ensure union reporting and dues submissions are completed accurately and on time
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Experience in job cost accounting
construction industry experience preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, payroll, and cash management
Proven ability to improve processes and help shape accounting policies
Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to solve problems and drive solutions
