We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will specialize in utility accounting and regulatory compliance for a large residential portfolio, while contributing to the success of luxury multi-family communities. This position offers the opportunity to expand your expertise in a vibrant and collaborative work environment.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee daily operations related to utility accounting, including the review and analysis of utility bills and consumption data
Coordinate and manage the organization of meters across residential and commercial properties
Perform reconciliations and analyses to ensure accurate and timely billing for utility services
Collaborate with internal teams to support compliance with regulatory requirements
Develop and maintain detailed records and reports to track utility-related expenses and usage
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency
Assist in strategic planning and provide insights based on utility consumption and financial data
Ensure accuracy and completeness in all financial transactions and reports
Support audits and regulatory reviews by providing necessary documentation and analysis
Contribute to the overall success of the accounting team by sharing knowledge and best practices

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in utility accounting or a related field
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
Proficiency in managing utility operations, including billing and consumption analysis
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the utility sector is highly desirable
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities
Strong communication skills to effectively convey findings and recommendations
