We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a vital role in managing and maintaining accurate financial records while assisting with complex accounting processes. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a strong background in full-cycle accounting and financial reconciliation, seeking a dynamic role within the higher education industry.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and review accurate journal entries to ensure proper financial reporting
Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
Conduct detailed account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial records
Manage bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
Support full-cycle accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable
Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational policies
Assist in preparing audit documentation and responding to auditor inquiries

Requirements:

Proven experience in month-end and year-end close processes
Proficiency in preparing and analyzing journal entries
Strong expertise in account and bank reconciliations
Solid understanding of general ledger management and full-cycle accounting
