We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Ladson, South Carolina, on a contract basis. This role focuses on rebuilding and managing accounting operations for our Automatic Door division, providing vital support as we optimize financial records and processes. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Job Responsibility:

Reconstruct and maintain accurate accounting records for Charleston entity
Generate and analyze financial reports, including aging reports, trial balances, accounts receivable (AR), and accounts payable (AP)
Manage AR and AP processes, ensuring timely billing, collections, and reconciliations
Investigate and correct historical financial data to support a comprehensive accounting rebuild
Reconcile account balances and verify the accuracy of statements
Support the setup and effective use of QuickBooks for financial operations
Collaborate with the Controller, fractional accounting team, and General Manager to ensure smooth knowledge transfer and operational transitions
Apply critical thinking to resolve complex accounting challenges
Ensure compliance with company financial policies and internal controls
Provide guidance on corporate tax, sales tax, and journal entries as needed

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the construction or subcontractor industry
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks is essential
Proven expertise in managing AR, AP, billing, and financial reporting
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve accounting issues
Knowledge of corporate and sales tax processes
Familiarity with journal entries, general ledger, and foundational accounting principles
Experience working in hands-on environments requiring accounting system reconstruction
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a small team
