Job Description:

Our client, a growing company in the construction industry, is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. This is a hands-on role for a self-starter who enjoys taking ownership, working independently, and being deeply involved in the day-to-day accounting operations.

Job Responsibility:

Own and deliver the full month-end close process with accurate, timely reporting
Perform full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and daily accounting operations
Prepare and review progress billings in collaboration with Project Managers
Maintain detailed Work in Progress (WIP) schedules and record revenue adjustments
Oversee the processing of payroll
Prepare internal financial statements and supporting schedules
Reconcile bank accounts and key balance sheet accounts
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Coordinate with external accountants for year-end reporting

Requirements:

5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
Proven ownership of month-end close with consistent, on-time delivery
Experience in the construction industry (WIP, progress billing, holdbacks) is a strong asset
Supervisory experience
CPA designation (or equivalent experience)
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
