We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Saint Louis, Missouri. This is a long-term contract opportunity designed for someone who is detail oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of financial accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing general ledger activities, month-end processes, and financial reporting while collaborating closely with leadership and operations.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee daily general ledger operations, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Manage and execute month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Prepare and maintain financial records in compliance with established accounting standards
Support accounting for project-based expenses and software development initiatives
Collaborate with the Controller to facilitate knowledge transfer during transitional periods
Ensure the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to support compliance requirements
Partner with leadership and operational teams to deliver financial insights and analysis
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within accounting functions
Utilize advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Deltek software to streamline accounting processes

Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles, with a focus on general ledger activities and reconciliations
Strong proficiency in managing month-end close processes and journal entries
Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes
Experience with accounting software, with Deltek expertise considered a significant advantage
Solid understanding of financial compliance and internal control practices
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and communicate financial insights clearly
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
