Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Newton, Kansas. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in construction accounting and full-cycle accounting processes. You will play a pivotal role in managing key financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounting practices.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee month-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to uphold financial integrity
Manage accounts payable operations, including invoice processing and payments
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting workflows
Apply expertise in construction accounting to align financial practices with industry standards
Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
Monitor compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
Assist in budgeting and forecasting to support strategic decision-making
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address financial issues and optimize performance

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction industry
Proficiency in month-end close activities and general ledger management
Solid knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices
Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives
Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and standards
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
