Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Dennis Port, Massachusetts. Job Responsibility:

Perform comprehensive account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and identifying variances
Develop and implement improved accounting procedures to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency
Provide guidance to both the current team and new hires, supporting their onboarding and integration into accounting processes
Utilize QuickBooks and advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables and vlookups, to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies
Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger
Assist in month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Collaborate with audit teams to complete outstanding audits and meet compliance requirements
Lead efforts to address and resolve variances identified during reconciliations, developing effective strategies for correction
Work with various accounting systems, including NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP, to manage financial data
Provide actionable insights to improve reporting accuracy and overall financial health

Requirements:

Proven experience in account reconciliation, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations
Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel functionalities, such as pivot tables and vlookups
Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation
Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting standards
Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP
Ability to work independently and take initiative in a leadership capacity
Exceptional problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying and addressing variances
Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders
