Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Fort Worth, Texas. As a key member of the Finance Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while supporting various cost accounting and analysis functions. This is a Contract position, offering an excellent opportunity to transition into a long-term role.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee month-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and roll-forward calculations to ensure timely and accurate completion
Perform detailed job cost and inventory analyses, identifying discrepancies and providing actionable recommendations to improve accuracy
Support project costing by contributing to Estimate to Complete calculations and ensuring adherence to established standards
Maintain compliance with US accounting standards while preparing and documenting cost accounting results for audits
Periodically review and update overhead costing rates, ensuring alignment with financial goals
Compare actual production costs with historical and projected figures, analyzing variances and reporting findings to management
Assist in budget preparation and forecasting by identifying cost drivers and trends
Participate in year-end closing activities and annual audits, reconciling accounts and preparing necessary accruals
Provide financial reporting and analysis support to the Finance Department, addressing ad hoc requests as needed
Collaborate with management to address significant financial issues and ensure transactions comply with company policies

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
Minimum of 5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
At least 2 years of financial analysis experience with a proven ability to address key issues
Strong understanding of US accounting standards and cost accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting systems
experience with Sage preferred
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, along with other financial software
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines
Solid analytical capabilities to interpret complex financial data and provide insights
