Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Hawthorne, New Jersey. This role focuses on managing core accounting functions, maintaining the accuracy of financial records, and supporting compliance with relevant regulations. As part of the finance department, you will contribute to key processes such as reconciliations, financial reporting, audits, and budgeting.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled
Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to deliver timely and precise financial results
Coordinate and support both internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
Assist in the preparation and management of budgets and forecasts to support organizational planning
Develop financial models to analyze data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights
Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
Create detailed financial reports and dashboards for senior management, accompanied by performance analysis
Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and implement improvements to promote efficiency
Participate in tax preparation and compliance activities, including federal, state, and payroll tax filings
Handle special projects and additional tasks as assigned by the Controller

Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
a master’s degree is preferred
At least 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the manufacturing industry
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data visualization
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
CPA or CMA certification is highly desirable
Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Axis, is preferred
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team
