Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Racine, Wisconsin. This role involves managing financial processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and contributing to the accuracy of budgets and financial statements. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting operations and a commitment to integrity and precision.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and review monthly journal entries for various accounts, including revenue, inventory, prepaid expenses, and shared services
Perform daily reconciliations for accounts such as cash in transit, credit card receipts, and prepaid revenue
Develop and present annual budgets and monthly budget-to-actual reports for retail and mail order operations
Oversee financials for related entities, including preparing financial statements and annual landlord reconciliations
Audit internal compliance with established controls and collaborate with the Controller to enhance documentation and implement improvements
Support accounts payable and receivable processes while maintaining segregation of duties
Assist with tax preparation, monthly and yearly financial reporting, and system implementations
Contribute to miscellaneous accounting tasks, paperwork, and reporting as needed
Maintain accuracy and reliability in all financial processes while working collaboratively with the team

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is required
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, including financial statement preparation and journal entry management
Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel functions, such as pivot tables and vlookup
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to calculate figures like discounts, interest, and percentages
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across the organization
Demonstrated integrity, attention to detail, and a positive attitude
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy

Nice to have:

Experience with systems implementation and familiarity with accounting software such as Sage Intacct or NetSuite is preferred
