Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee general ledger accounting, month-end close, A/P, A/R, and payroll. This role will be responsible for preparing financial statements, performing account reconciliations, and managing the general ledger. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of US GAAP and have the reporting and technical expertise to support our ongoing growth. Collaboration with other departments to enhance reporting will be essential. As a key member of the finance team, this position reports directly to the VP of Finance and Accounting.

Job Responsibility:

  • Craft accurate financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and support month-end/year-end closes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP
  • Design and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and streamline workflows
  • Partner cross-functionally to manage and enhance expense management and reporting clarity
  • Oversee general ledger integrity, including journal entries, AP/AR, expense categorization, revenue recognition and payroll
  • Drive system optimization (user access, permissions) to bolster security, compliance and efficiency
  • Spearhead process improvements through tech-driven solutions
  • Ensure timely tax filings (sales, payroll, corporate) and maintain rigorous compliance
  • Audit payroll transactions for accuracy and adherence to regulations
  • Collaborate with the VP of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
  • CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the healthcare/wellness, hospitality, or at a startup
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong sense of ownership
  • Exceptional written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
