Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee general ledger accounting, month-end close, A/P, A/R, and payroll. This role will be responsible for preparing financial statements, performing account reconciliations, and managing the general ledger. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of US GAAP and have the reporting and technical expertise to support our ongoing growth. Collaboration with other departments to enhance reporting will be essential. As a key member of the finance team, this position reports directly to the VP of Finance and Accounting.

Job Responsibility:

Craft accurate financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and support month-end/year-end closes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP
Design and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and streamline workflows
Partner cross-functionally to manage and enhance expense management and reporting clarity
Oversee general ledger integrity, including journal entries, AP/AR, expense categorization, revenue recognition and payroll
Drive system optimization (user access, permissions) to bolster security, compliance and efficiency
Spearhead process improvements through tech-driven solutions
Ensure timely tax filings (sales, payroll, corporate) and maintain rigorous compliance
Audit payroll transactions for accuracy and adherence to regulations
Collaborate with the VP of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the healthcare/wellness, hospitality, or at a startup
Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
A strong sense of ownership
Exceptional written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
