Senior Accountant

• Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, ensuring alignment with Raiser's Edge
• Review and verify payroll processes, including timesheets, rates, taxes, and check requests
• Oversee the compilation and review of cash receipt logs prepared by entry level accounting staff
• Manage bank reconciliations for operating accounts and handle month-end tasks such as health insurance billing and recording in-kind donations
• Prepare and post month-end journal entries while ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Compile and present monthly financial reports to executive leadership and program directors, providing clear insights into organizational performance
• Coordinate the budget preparation process, collaborating with leadership and office directors to plan, monitor, and adjust budgets as needed
• Provide guidance and support to office and program directors on accounting procedures, grant compliance, and financial research
• File sales tax returns accurately and on time
• Prepare schedules and documentation for annual financial audits, ensuring compliance with auditing standards

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of three years of experience in accounting or financial management
• Proficiency in month-end closing processes, including journal entries and general ledger management
• Strong skills in account and bank reconciliations
• Familiarity with accounting systems such as Financial Edge and Sage Intacct
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with executives and team members

Knowledge of grant compliance and reporting requirements is a plus
