Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to support our client on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent position in Pulaski, New York. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the month-end closing process while supporting key accounting operations. Ideal candidates will bring expertise in accounting systems, financial reconciliation, and reporting, particularly within a manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee and execute the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure compliance with accounting standards
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy
Conduct account and bank reconciliations to resolve discrepancies and maintain financial accuracy
Utilize SAP and Excel to analyze financial data and create detailed reports
Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
Review financial statements and ensure all entries align with company policies and procedures
Provide support for audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports as needed
Train and guide team members on best practices in accounting operations, if required

Requirements:

Proven experience in month-end close, general ledger maintenance, and journal entry preparation
Strong knowledge of account and bank reconciliations, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel functions, including formulas and data analysis
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
