We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Torrance, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing financial operations, maintaining compliance with regulations, and ensuring accurate reporting. This role involves overseeing accounting processes, supporting audits, and contributing to the institution’s interpretation on asset liability risk analysis.
Job Responsibility:
Perform monthly general ledger closings and prepare financial statements, ensuring timely completion within 5-7 business days after month-end
Monitor, review, and reconcile official and general ledger accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to maintain accuracy
Assist in the preparation of regulatory and audit reports, supporting external audit cycles and resolving findings as needed
Work with the management team providing assistance in various projects, monthly reports and product pricing
Manage annual capital expenditure budgets, including projections, tracking, and reporting
Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and proper ledger maintenance
Prepare documentation for external auditors and contribute to annual audits to ensure compliance
Analyze financial transactions to identify discrepancies, providing insights to the Controller as necessary
Support the development of budgets and assist in producing management reports for decision-making purposes
Contribute to the institution’s regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring adherence to financial services standards
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles
Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger reconciliation
Strong knowledge of audit schedules and regulatory reporting within the financial services industry
Ability to analyze financial transactions and identify discrepancies effectively
Familiarity with budgeting processes and capital expenditure tracking
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
