Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry located in Ontario is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance department on a contract basis. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to take ownership of key accounting processes and help drive operational excellence across our organization.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee general ledger, month-end close, and account reconciliations with accuracy and efficiency
Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements in compliance with company and regulatory standards
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Partner with operations and supply chain to monitor cost accounting and inventory management
Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist with audit preparation
Lead continuous improvement initiatives for financial reporting and systems
Mentor junior accounting staff and foster collaboration across teams
Stay current on industry trends and support new projects as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in manufacturing or industrial environments
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing processes
Proficiency in ERP/accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills
Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities
