Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Fort Collins, Colorado. This hands-on role involves managing daily accounting operations, overseeing the full month-end close process, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, works independently, and proactively addresses issues to maintain operational efficiency.

Job Responsibility:

Execute weekly Accounts Payable payment batches with precision and timeliness
Provide daily support for customer invoicing, cash application, and invoice reconciliation
Take full ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring all steps are completed accurately and efficiently
Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax reports in compliance with regulations
Process payroll using Paycom, including timecard management and posting payroll entries
Create and post journal entries and accruals while maintaining proper documentation
Ensure the accuracy of general ledger activity through regular reconciliations
Collaborate with the Operations team on inventory-related tasks, providing financial support without direct ownership
Utilize Microsoft Dynamics GP to complete daily transactions and month-end closing activities effectively

Requirements:

Proven experience with month-end close processes and general ledger management
Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries and reconciling accounts
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) for accounting transactions and close processes
Strong ability to manage daily cash operations and reconcile payroll entries
Knowledge of sales and use tax preparation and filing
Familiarity with processing payroll through systems like Paycom
Solid understanding of financial analysis and accounts payable processes
Ability to work independently and maintain accuracy under high transaction volumes
