Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a non-profit organization based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is a long-term contract position that offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful financial operations while ensuring precision and accountability. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial reconciliation, payroll assistance, and general ledger management.

Job Responsibility:

Manage daily investment processing and reconciliation to ensure accurate financial reporting
Approve and post financial transactions with a focus on compliance and precision
Support payroll processing activities, including overseeing salaried employee records and ensuring timely payments
Perform month-end close procedures to maintain accurate financial statements
Prepare and record journal entries to reflect the organization’s financial activities
Conduct account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial records
Handle bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are properly accounted for
Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency
Provide financial insights and reports to support organizational decision-making
Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management
Strong proficiency in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts
Solid understanding of bank reconciliation procedures
Familiarity with payroll processing systems and practices
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work with complex financial data
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Effective communication and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
