Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support core accounting activities and help maintain timely, accurate financial reporting for a growing healthcare organization. This role works closely with finance leadership to manage close activities, strengthen day-to-day accounting operations, and support compliance across multiple reporting areas. The position is well suited for someone who enjoys balancing technical accounting work with process improvement and cross-functional collaboration.

Job Responsibility:

Lead key components of the monthly close cycle, including preparing and posting journal entries and helping ensure reporting deadlines are met
Record payroll-related accounting activity accurately and resolve discrepancies in coordination with internal stakeholders
Review invoice coding, support proper expense classification, and work with accounts payable to facilitate timely vendor payments
Prepare accounting entries for revenue and accounts receivable transactions while helping maintain accurate subsidiary and general ledger records
Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts on a recurring basis, including cash accounts and related bank activity
Maintain accounting for fixed assets and lease arrangements, including tracking additions, adjustments, and ongoing compliance requirements
Compile grant-related invoices and prepare supporting financial reports for external funding sources as needed
Partner with finance leadership on ad hoc analysis, reporting needs, and other departmental priorities that support operational effectiveness

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
At least five years of progressive accounting experience in a detail-focused setting
Demonstrated success managing month-end close activities, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations
Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations, account analysis, and financial statement support
Knowledge of revenue recognition, accounts receivable processes, and payables support activities
Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
