Job Description:

Join an established retail/distribution company as our Senior Accountant. In this vital role, you will support financial operations, lead accounting processes, and ensure accuracy and compliance. You’ll work cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement and provide insights to leadership.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for general ledger activities
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals
Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Support budgeting and forecasting processes, analyzing variances and providing actionable commentary
Manage inventory and cost accounting, reconciling discrepancies and supporting audits
Collaborate with operations, sales, and supply chain teams to analyze business performance and drive process improvements
Lead statutory reporting and compliance, including sales tax, inventory valuation, and internal controls
Assist with external audits, responding to inquiries and compiling requested documentation
Mentor junior accounting staff and support ongoing professional development
Identify and implement process efficiencies, automation opportunities, and best practices

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA a plus
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in an inventory-based environment
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
