We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a leading healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of accounting principles, exceptional analytical abilities, and the capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare accurate and timely journal entries to support monthly general ledger closings, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and organizational policies
Conduct detailed account reconciliations and balance sheet analyses to maintain financial accuracy and integrity
Develop and present financial reports by utilizing intermediate to advanced computer and software skills
Collaborate with supervisors, managers, and other staff to identify and implement solutions for financial and operational issues
Compile and report complex financial data for internal and external purposes, including regulatory filings and audit documentation
Manage the financial close process for assigned hospitals, including accruals, variance analyses, facility communications, and final reporting
Participate constructively within a team environment to achieve shared objectives and deliver high-quality results
Identify and resolve challenges by analyzing business processes and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency
Exercise authority to post routine journal entries, prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, and evaluate best practices for financial analysis
Provide mentorship and guidance to peers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong preference for healthcare or hospital industry experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
emphasis in Accounting or Finance is highly preferred
Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and advanced analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining proactive communication with supervisors
Expertise in personal computer applications, including advanced Excel and general ledger processing software such as SAP
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
Occasional availability to travel to supported facilities during normal work hours
Ability to review and analyze complex financial data with precision and attention to detail
