Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a leading healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of accounting principles, exceptional analytical abilities, and the capability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare accurate and timely journal entries to support monthly general ledger closings, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and organizational policies
  • Conduct detailed account reconciliations and balance sheet analyses to maintain financial accuracy and integrity
  • Develop and present financial reports by utilizing intermediate to advanced computer and software skills
  • Collaborate with supervisors, managers, and other staff to identify and implement solutions for financial and operational issues
  • Compile and report complex financial data for internal and external purposes, including regulatory filings and audit documentation
  • Manage the financial close process for assigned hospitals, including accruals, variance analyses, facility communications, and final reporting
  • Participate constructively within a team environment to achieve shared objectives and deliver high-quality results
  • Identify and resolve challenges by analyzing business processes and recommending improvements to enhance efficiency
  • Exercise authority to post routine journal entries, prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, and evaluate best practices for financial analysis
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to peers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong preference for healthcare or hospital industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
  • emphasis in Accounting or Finance is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and advanced analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining proactive communication with supervisors
  • Expertise in personal computer applications, including advanced Excel and general ledger processing software such as SAP
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
  • Occasional availability to travel to supported facilities during normal work hours
  • Ability to review and analyze complex financial data with precision and attention to detail
