Our client, a dynamic and growing company based in Gardena, California, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. In this role, you will take ownership of key accounting functions, including fixed assets, inventory management, and general ledger maintenance. You will play a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting while contributing to ongoing process improvements and supporting the month-end close. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and reconcile fixed asset records, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation schedules
Oversee inventory accounting by monitoring levels, performing reconciliations, and ensuring accurate transaction recording
Prepare and post journal entries and assist with account reconciliations during the month-end close process
Analyze financial statements (balance sheets and income statements) to provide insights and recommendations for management
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
Collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager on audit preparation, ad-hoc reporting, and special projects
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies in all financial activities
Conduct variance analyses and resolve discrepancies in financial data
Utilize accounting software and reporting tools to streamline reconciliation and reporting processes
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, focusing on fixed assets, inventory, and general ledger
Proficiency in financial reporting and month-end close procedures
Advanced knowledge of accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP, along with strong skills in Microsoft Excel
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex financial information
Familiarity with bank and balance sheet reconciliations as well as journal entry preparation
