Job Description:

Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Reno, Nevada. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing close activities, and ensuring balance sheet integrity through detailed review and reconciliation work. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

Lead monthly close activities by preparing, reviewing, and finalizing accounting records within established deadlines.
Post and validate journal entries to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and completely.
Maintain the general ledger and investigate discrepancies to preserve the integrity of financial data.
Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve variances through timely research and follow-up.
Complete bank reconciliations regularly and address outstanding items to support cash accuracy.
Analyze financial information and provide clear documentation to support accounting balances and adjustments.
Partner with internal stakeholders to gather required data and improve the efficiency of routine accounting processes.

Requirements:

Demonstrated experience in senior-level accounting work with a strong understanding of month-end close procedures.
Hands-on expertise with general ledger management and preparation of journal entries.
Proven ability to complete account reconciliations accurately and on schedule.
Experience performing bank reconciliations and identifying unresolved variances.
Strong analytical skills with close attention to detail and financial accuracy.
Ability to organize priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple accounting tasks effectively.
