Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Delray Beach, Florida. This is a contract position within the real estate development industry, offering an opportunity to work on diverse financial tasks supporting large-scale projects. The ideal candidate will contribute to the financial success of our organization by ensuring accurate reporting and compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibility:

Manage month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts
Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards
Perform account and bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy
Analyze budgets and track expenses to support project financial goals
Prepare detailed financial reports and provide insights to project managers
Process invoices and monitor expense accounts for compliance and accuracy
Collaborate with project teams to review financial performance and address discrepancies
Contribute to financial planning and forecasting processes for development projects
Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies
Support audits and provide documentation as needed

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting, preferably within real estate or project accounting
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Excel
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budget management
Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Effective communication and collaboration abilities

Nice to have:

Certification or progress toward certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus
