We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Belgrade, Maine. This role combines core accounting responsibilities with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to support a growing business. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial processes, delivering insightful analytics, and contributing to strategic decision-making.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of entries and reconciliations
Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and internal controls documentation
Develop and maintain financial models to assist with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
Collaborate with operational teams to provide insights on sales, margins, costs, capital expenditures, and overall business performance
Generate ad hoc reports, variance analyses, and scenario planning to inform senior leadership
Ensure compliance with regulatory and company-specific accounting policies
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and support automation initiatives
Assist in audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance processes specific to the manufacturing sector
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing or distribution environments
Expertise in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting and forecasting
Proficiency in accounting systems, as well as advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive continuous process improvements
