Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Washington, District of Columbia. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting month-end close activities. This role requires proficiency with Deltek Costpoint and a strong understanding of non-profit accounting practices.

Job Responsibility:

Perform detailed account reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet accounts, to ensure accuracy
Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries are properly recorded
Oversee month-end close procedures, including preparing financial statements and reports
Utilize Deltek Costpoint for tracking and managing financial data
Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other applicable standards
Provide financial analysis and insights to support organizational decision-making
Assist with audits and ensure proper documentation is maintained

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on reconciliations and financial management
Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint and familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
Strong background in non-profit or government contracting accounting practices
Expertise in month-end close processes and journal entry preparation
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
