Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a Contract to hire basis in Chicago, Illinois. This role is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented individual with expertise in financial reporting, loan accounting, real estate accounting and real estate transactions monitoring. You will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards.

Job Responsibility:

Manage month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts
Oversee the maintenance of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Analyze financial statements and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
Prepare annual financial reports and plans to align with organizational goals
Handle loan accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Review and manage real estate payment plans and related financial transactions
Apply knowledge of capitalizing and expensing processes to ensure proper accounting treatment
Support corporate financial planning by consolidating financial data and preparing reports
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial objectives

Requirements:

Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management
Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation
Expertise in bank reconciliation and financial statement analysis
Proficiency in preparing annual financial reports and corporate financial plans
Familiarity with loan accounting and real estate financial transactions
Understanding of capitalizing and expensing standards
Ability to analyze consolidated financial statements and provide actionable insights
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
