Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This will be a short term contract role to cover a desk while they find a full time hire.

Job Responsibility:

Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including recording transactions and reconciling accounts
Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
Execute month-end close procedures, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are complete
Handle intercompany transactions and reconcile balances across entities
Oversee accounts payable processes, including check runs and payment approvals
Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to support audits and ensure compliance
Generate and review financial statements for accuracy and completeness
Perform account reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet accounts
Analyze and resolve discrepancies in financial data to maintain integrity

Requirements:

Proven experience in account reconciliation, including bank and balance sheet accounts
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation
Expertise in month-end close processes and financial reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
Familiarity with managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations
Ability to collaborate effectively with auditors and cross-functional teams
Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
Solid understanding of accounting principles and compliance standards
