We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Livermore, California. In this role, you will oversee critical accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records and reports. Job Responsibility:
Execute monthly close processes, including preparing and posting journal entries to ensure accurate reflection of transactions
Prepare detailed financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and profit and loss reports
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts on a timely basis to maintain accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Monitor daily bank activities, update cash reports, and post necessary journal entries
Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, payment processing, and verifying charges to appropriate accounts
Perform weekly bank reconciliations, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banking institutions
Assist with invoicing duties, including portal submissions, resolving disputes, and handling customer billing inquiries
Respond to external auditor requests, providing timely and accurate documentation as required
File tax forms with government agencies at federal, state, and local levels
Collaborate with software vendors to maintain and improve accounting systems, recommending updates to enhance functionality
Requirements:
Minimum of five years of accounting experience with a focus on detail
Proficiency in month-end close processes, including general ledger management and journal entries
Strong skills in account and bank reconciliations, with attention to detail
Familiarity with preparing financial statements and reports
Knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
Experience with accounts payable and invoice management
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Proficiency in accounting software and willingness to recommend system improvements
