We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiency in reporting processes. This position is based in Austin, Texas, and offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the success of a dynamic organization.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare, analyze, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance
Conduct detailed reconciliations for accounts such as inventory, fixed assets, and accounts payable/receivable
Manage cost accounting functions, including maintaining standard cost systems and analyzing variances to support inventory processes
Collaborate with teams across operations, engineering, and supply chain to enhance financial procedures and controls
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and performing variance analysis for manufacturing-related activities
Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations, including environmental and renewable energy tax credit requirements
Support external audits by coordinating documentation and addressing auditor inquiries
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial reporting and enhance operational efficiency
Provide mentorship and leadership to less experienced accounting team members
Requirements:

Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation

Familiarity with cost accounting methods and variance analysis
Ability to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies
Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and external auditors
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor entry level staff in accounting practices
