We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and expertise in accounting processes and systems. The role requires a proactive individual who can work independently, handle complex financial tasks, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance operations.

Job Responsibility:

Manage month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial data
Oversee general ledger activities, including maintaining records and reconciling accounts
Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting
Conduct thorough account reconciliations to verify financial accuracy and compliance
Handle bank reconciliations and manage banking transactions with precision
Ensure seamless vendor and customer payment processing while maintaining strong relationships
Utilize NetSuite for accounting workflows and troubleshoot issues effectively
Collaborate on Salesforce integration tasks to support accounting operations
Respond to ad hoc financial requests and adapt to evolving priorities with confidence
Provide support to remote senior finance leaders, addressing challenges and offering solutions

Requirements:

A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience in a similar organizational context
Hands-on expertise with NetSuite is essential for this role
Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues with minimal supervision
Familiarity with Salesforce integration in accounting workflows is preferred
Proven experience with banking transactions, reconciliations, and vendor/customer payments
Strong skills in month-end close, general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliation
Comfortable managing high-volume tasks and adapting to ambiguity
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
