Join our dynamic Accounting team as a Senior Accountant, where you'll be responsible for daily and month-end accounting activities, financial analysis, and subledger maintenance. Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, this role is responsible for executing daily and month-end accounting activities, preparing account reconciliations, performing financial analysis, and maintaining subledgers as needed. Job Responsibility:
Compile and analyze data to prepare journal entries for various accounts and transactions
Maintain and reconcile various subledgers
Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including independently identifying and resolving reconciling items in support of ending account balances
Prepare various month-end schedules and variance analyses
Apply the financial policies and procedures of the company and communicate to management any inconsistencies or issues identified during the daily or month-end close processes
Independently communicate with other company personnel and contacts outside of the company to gather needed information and/or resolve issues
Generate and send daily reports to various departments as needed
Work on various SOX tasks and projects
Assists with requests related to internal and external audits and work with auditors to resolve audit questions
Reviews existing processes identifies opportunities for improvement and helps to implement approved changes
Other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a regionally accredited institution
4-6 years of industry and/or public accounting experience, including experience with a publicly-traded company
Demonstrated knowledge of a commonly used ERP/General Ledger system (Oracle/PeopleSoft financials is a plus)
Hands-on experience with subledger systems
Extreme attention to detail
Strong analytical skills and ability to manipulate financial data
Intermediate knowledge of US GAAP
Strong working knowledge of MS Excel (pivots, VLOOKUP’s, nested formulas, etc.)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Willingness to work extra hours during month-end/quarter-end close cycle
Must have the flexibility to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant
Must be able to lift 10 lbs
Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor
Access information using a computer
Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain
Effectively cope with stressful situations
Strong mental acuity
