Job Description

A leading accountancy practice in Exeter is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Accountant to take responsibility for a varied client portfolio and support the delivery of high-quality accounting and tax services. This role suits a practice-trained accountant who enjoys a broad remit, combining accounts preparation, tax compliance and client interaction. You’ll work closely with Managers and Partners, review work prepared by junior staff and play an important role in maintaining strong client relationships.

Job Responsibility

  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies
  • Producing accounts for sole traders and partnerships
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax and personal tax returns
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, responding to queries
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior team members
  • Supporting Managers with workflow planning and deadlines
  • Identifying opportunities to add value and support advisory work
  • Ensuring work complies with professional and regulatory standards

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
  • Experience working within a UK accountancy practice
  • Confident preparing and reviewing accounts for SMEs
  • Good understanding of tax compliance
  • Enjoy working directly with clients
  • Organised, reliable and comfortable managing deadlines
  • Keen to continue progressing within public practice
