We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven non-profit organization while managing essential financial operations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting practices and a commitment to upholding the organization's fiscal integrity.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management
Perform detailed bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records
Prepare and review monthly financial reports, budgets, and grant-related documents
Ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards and relevant regulatory requirements
Coordinate and support annual audits by working closely with external auditors
Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard organizational assets
Manage fiscal grant reporting and maintain supporting documentation for funders and stakeholders
Collaborate with program leaders to assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Support the preparation of annual tax filings, including Form 990
Identify opportunities for financial process improvements and assist in implementing technology solutions

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
At least 7 years of accounting experience, with preference for non-profit accounting expertise
Strong knowledge of fund accounting principles and familiarity with relevant standards
Proficiency in accounting software, with experience in systems like Sage Intacct preferred
Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to use complex formulas
CPA certification is highly desirable
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication abilities
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
