Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Accountant with 7+ years of progressive accounting experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and technical accounting, as well as proven expertise in leading month-end and year-end close processes. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to key financial decisions and help optimize our accounting practices.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or applicable standards
Manage and review general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Coordinate and support audits (internal and external), preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
Research complex accounting issues and provide guidance on technical accounting matters
Mentor and train junior staff, offering support and reviewing their work as necessary
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide strategic insights
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Support process improvement projects to enhance efficiency within the accounting function

Requirements:

Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA, CMA, or relevant certification preferred
In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting best practices
Strong proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and time management abilities
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial colleagues
Demonstrated experience in process improvement and internal control implementation
