We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Lenexa, Kansas. Job Responsibility:
Manage and execute month-end close procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries align with organizational policies
Oversee accounting for work-in-progress (WIP) and job cost tracking to support project profitability analysis
Apply revenue recognition principles to accurately account for earned revenue in compliance with relevant standards
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to analyze financial data related to construction projects
Prepare detailed financial reports and summaries for management review
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting workflows and efficiency
Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and accounting practices
Support audits by providing required documentation and resolving inquiries
Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures for the organization
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry
Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management
Solid understanding of work-in-progress (WIP) accounting and job costing
Experience with revenue recognition principles and their application
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in financial reporting
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Knowledge of construction industry accounting practices and standards
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
