Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Santa Clara, California. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting general ledger activities, month-end close processes, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong accounting expertise to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee general ledger accounting and manage month-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance reports to maintain financial accuracy
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards, documenting processes and controls as needed
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Legal, IT, and Engineering, to resolve accounting issues and support operational goals
Provide support during external audits by preparing schedules, gathering supporting documentation, and addressing auditor inquiries
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and scalability of accounting operations

Requirements:

A minimum of 3-6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting and industry roles
Strong expertise in general ledger accounting, month-end close processes, and financial reporting
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and their application in practical scenarios
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail
Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively across teams
CPA certification or eligibility is strongly preferred

Nice to have:

Familiarity with accounting systems like NetSuite or similar platforms is a plus
Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment such as technology or SaaS is advantageous
