We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This role requires someone with strong attention to detail who can analyze balance sheet reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and efficiently resolve issues to ensure accurate financial reporting. Job Responsibility:

Conduct thorough reviews of balance sheet reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies
Perform detailed investigations and untangle complex accounting issues to ensure accuracy
Manage month-end closing processes, including journal entry preparation and general ledger updates
Reconcile accounts and ensure alignment with financial reporting standards
Handle bank reconciliations and verify transactions for accuracy
Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
Provide recommendations for improving reconciliation and reporting processes
Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting operations
Maintain meticulous records and documentation for auditing purposes
Support other accounting tasks as needed to facilitate project completion

Requirements:

Extensive experience in accounting, with a focus on balance sheet and account reconciliations
Proficiency in month-end close processes, journal entries, and general ledger management
Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively
Expertise in bank reconciliations and financial reporting
Familiarity with accounting principles and regulatory standards
