We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in San Jose, California. This position is within a non-profit organization and offers a Contract to permanent opportunity for candidates seeking a long-term career. Job Responsibility:
Manage and execute month-end closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring all entries are correct and align with financial standards
Prepare and post journal entries, maintaining comprehensive documentation for all transactions
Perform account reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner
Conduct bank reconciliations, ensuring all cash transactions are properly recorded and balanced
Collaborate with internal teams to support financial audits and provide necessary documentation
Analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend improvements to accounting processes
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable accounting regulations
Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for management review
Support special projects and initiatives to enhance operational efficiency within the accounting department
Requirements:
Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and accounting principles
Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries with attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to perform account and bank reconciliations accurately
Familiarity with financial software and tools to streamline accounting tasks
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address discrepancies
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
