Our real estate client is looking for a Senior Accountant. This position is hybrid located in Downtown LA, CA.
Job Responsibility
Review and oversee accounting activities and financial reporting for a portfolio of assets managed by third-party teams
Analyze monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, and variance reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
Review journal entries and accounting for capital transactions, asset activity, debt, acquisitions, dispositions, and other complex events
Partner with property management, operations, and finance teams to support accurate and timely financial reporting
Lead process improvement initiatives, strengthen controls, and maintain accounting policies and procedures
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests
Provide guidance and oversight to remote accounting staff and assist leadership with special projects, reporting, and financial analysis
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, investment, or public accounting environments
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and account reconciliation processes
CPA designation or progress toward certification preferred
Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP/accounting systems
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities with experience partnering across teams
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience developing processes, improving controls, and mentoring junior staff is a plus
Ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently, and maintain a high level of professionalism
Nice to have
